Just returned from the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas. What an amazing extravaganza with so much to see, it's impossible to see it all. Nevertheless, we managed to talk to lots of old friends and dealers such as Mooneyes, Jimmy Shine, Dan Webb, Bobby Walden and Eric Black to name but a few.
On Wednesday evening, David Steele, Executive Director of the American Hot Rod Foundation, and I were invited to Pete Brock's exclusive after party which is always a pleasure. Pete, of course, is most famous for designing the Cobra Daytona Coupe and there's always a bunch of Shelby automobiles in attendance. This year it was an unexpected pleasure to see, old friend, Hardy Allen and my personal hero, land speed record holder, Craig Breedlove who unveiled the model of a new land speed car. With the Brits chasing 1,000 mph it will be a tough battle, but if anybody can pull it off, it's Craig.
The following morning we headed east on the Strip to the new location of the SO-CAL Speed Shop Las Vegas. It's upstairs in the new Pawn Plaza, operated by The History Channel's Pawn Stars, and the crowds to see Chumlee were quite amazing. The Plaza is located right next door to the infamous Pawn Shop, and if you're visiting "Lost Wages" it's definitely worth a visit to pick up a SO-CAL or GhostracksUSA T-shirt.
